4 Modern Ideas for your Wedding Gift Registry from Pottery Barn Chinook Mall Calgary
Traditions are changing and these days by the time most Brides and Grooms get married they already have a home and all the everyday items they need. So creating a gift registry doesn’t seem as appealing as it might have years ago. But what do you do for those guests that don’t like gifting money?
I meant up with Stacey at Pottery Barn to get some insight on how the gift registry at Pottery Barn works and what ideas they have for creating a unique and useful gift registry.
Stacey advised that “yes, most couples feel they have everything they need for their home before the wedding day.” But she has come up with some cool ideas on how to transform your wedding registry into a more modern gift registry that is sure to help your guest purchase gifts they feel good about and that the Bride and Groom can get excited to receive.
Stacey pointed out that some high quality bedding and furniture is expensive and not necessarily an item the B+G would buy themselves. She suggested incorporating items like, high quality linen sheets, luxurious duvets/throws, decorative pillows and even furniture and accessories onto your registry. Decor and accents can be a nice gift and one that will prove functional for the B+G when creating a polished look within their home.
Sure, furniture can be expensive and perhaps your guests may not purchase a new headboard or sofa for your home, but they might opt for a gift-card that can later be used towards the purchase of some of your more expensive items.
ENTERTAINING KITCHEN IDEAS:
Everyday kitchen dishes and utensils are more popular than purchasing china these days. Pottery Barn has some very beautiful everyday dish wear that is sure to inspire creativity in the kitchen when setting up to entertain your friends and families. Adding decorative bowls to your place settings will add interest and style. Here Pottery Barn as paired a mix of white mugs and plates with bold blue prints to spice up the table.
GIFTS FOR HIM:
Speaking to Stacey about unique ideas for the registry we touch on items that could be gifted to him and not just to her. Of course most of the items on a gift registry are for them, but if you are looking for something with more of a masculine feel; items such as bar accessories are a great gift for the groom. Decanters, flasks, highball glasses, ice buckets and coasters can make a great masculine gift that will surely get used by both the Bride and Groom. These items are great to purchase on their own or in a cute gift basket.
Or if you are looking for a more elegant gift idea, try for wine decanters, wine glasses, romantic candles, silver trays and cheese tray accessories!
NO MORE BORING BATHROOMS!
Bathrooms can be overlooked when thinking about reasons to plan a registry. But if the registry is still something you feel is outdated, perhaps to help those who want to buy a gift instead of gifting money; adding items for your bathroom can help you reinvent your bathroom landscape. Succulents, fresh towels, cute soup and lotion dispensers, even bath salts can be added to your registry to help you transform your boring bathroom into an oasis!
